About Our Program

In 2008 the children in our 4-year multi-age program began to plan and then build a number of small raised beds for planting vegetables, flowers, and herbs. In addition to working daily in the gardens, they study the many insects, birds, and chipmunks that visit the myriad of plants. There is a small succession plot and we recently added an area to grow corn, beans, and squash for our older children's Native American Project. Children have built a shed and are in the process of making a grass-covered roof. The Outdoor Classroom, as we call, it provides a beautiful setting in which to work and play.
