About Our Program

OCYL is unique in that we are not associated with one particular school, but are working to promote and provide educational opportunities to the Town of Cumberland's children at various locations.

In the past year, over 250 students have come out to experience various programs at our magnet location the Historic Metcalf- Franklin Farm on Abbott Run Valley Road in Cumberland. Students have not only planted an Eco- Fort (a vine experience), Pizza Garden, Community Garden, but have done water quality tests and GPS Mapping on the farm. Our goal is to have children bring these experiences back to their schools and watch the garden experience grow.
