Sullivan School garden is an annual project that runs from April 1 through November each year. The garden was first created to clean up a run down courtyard area. Since that time, the garden has evolved into 2 beds - one flower and one vegetable, the garden has been planted and maintained by Mrs. Folcarelli's and her second grade class, Mrs. Carolyn Martin, School Nurse, Mr. Mark McKenna, Family Service Coordinator and Mr. Butch Jackson, Custodian. The purpose of the garden is to teach students science concepts and the vital elements of creating beauty for and as a community. We have received assistance in many forms from local organizations and the local high school. The garden provides a vital part of our community and character building education as our school receives Title I funds and 99% of our students receive free lunch. The students receive endless amounts of joy from this experience each year.
