Outdoor sensory environment. Will begin construction this May 2008- stone walls, pergalos, moon gates, herbs, flowering trees, tactile pathways.

On September 25, 2008 we were happy to welcome 27 volunteer workers from the area SHAWS grocery stores to work on our sensory garden. It was a perfect day- the students worked along side the volunteers and they worked from 730 am till 4 00 pm. They finished the pergola, planted all the sensory plants, put in 6 - 8 foot long by 4 foot wide trex benches and put in a wheel chair accessible raised herb planter box. The chimes were hung by the career and tech students from the high school- the students enjoyed striking them and feeling the vibrations as well as hearing the different tones that the 100 year old empty propane tanks made. We also received a check for $3000.00 from SHAWS corporate headquarters in Mass to fund our garden.
