Garden Dollars Tips

  • Grants are not sustainable income.
  • Most grants must be reapplied for each year and do not usually pay indirect costs.
  • Grants are subject to many factors not in your control. A wonderful project may not get funded for many reasons.
  • Winning well-paying and yearly grants demands longer-term "funder cultivation."
  • Smaller grants for materials are good ways to keep revenue coming in but they are specific to the material request and cannot be used for other purposes.
