People both inside and outside your school or youth organization can assist you to grow a sustainable garden education program. In recruiting volunteers and community members, it's imprtant to find people with skills to oversee and complete important tasks including:

  1. Organizing, managing and administering your garden education program
  2. Designing, training and leading gardening activities
  3. Raising funds
  4. Conducting marketing & public relations
  5. Developing and matching curriculum elements to state standards
  6. Building community involvement
  7. Recruiting and managing volunteers
  8. Identifying and acquiring tools & resources
  9. Writing & graphic design
  10. Addressing legal, accounting and bookkeeping tasks
  11. Conducting communications – your website, newsletters, correspondence
  12. Conducting research
  13. Documenting the process – taking pictures, keeping journals
