Run a Successful Year-Round Garden Program

  • Develop with your team your garden education program mission, vision & goals.
  • Establish a list of seasonal and year-long activities.
  • Create a needs list for all garden education program activities.
  • Once defined, distribute materials to your team members and to volunteers & candidates for positions with your team.
  • Put a schedule of organizational meetings together for the next three to six months.
  • Broadcast your meeting dates and times well in advance.
  • Keep your team/the group size manageable so decisions can be made easily and efficiently.
  • Get personal commitments from key team members for one year to ensure that you have the continuity and consistency of effort that you will need.
